Battery Saving Tips part 2

Another Battery Saving Tips to keep you and your phone running!!

I’m back again with tips to conserve your battery, the original post “Battery Saving Tips” with no more introductions, I will now share you these tips:

1. Short Screen Timeout
The simplest tip is here again, the screen timeout decides when your phone will turn off when it’s inactive, this tip can help your phone to conserve more battery life due to the short timeout.

2. Battery Saving Apps
You’ll find hundreds of Battery Saving Apps on your app store, these apps lets you know what kind of app is eating your battery and allows you to save battery consumption in just a click.

Battery Saving Apps are usually FREE on your app store, just download one and you’ll be ready to go, with these apps it can not only kill apps that drains your battery but it will also help you conserve more battery with its on board programs.

3. Airplane mode
All smartphones are designed to search for cellular signals even in limited areas which strains your battery and consumes more power, try switching it to Airplane mode and it will conserve more battery life,  when on Airplane mode your phone will cut the “Searching Cellular Signal” and take Note You wont be able to receive or make calls and texts when your phone is on Airplane mode.

4. Turn off auto refresh on your social feed (Twitter, Facebook etc.)
Staying in touch with the latest news is  great but It can reduce your battery life as well while refreshing the app continuously, without turning the Auto refresh on your social feeds, your feeds will automatically refresh at  the given time and will run the application even you don’t open it and I’ll help you turn it off, go to your socials and click “Settings or Options” and look for the Auto Refresh and turn it off to conserve more battery.

5. Don’t Text, Use and Talk when your phone is charging!!
Using it while charging will ruin your battery and it will make your phone charge more slower than ever.

Battery Saving Tips

Here are some battery saving tips to get you moving!

The days when cell phones can last for a week or 2 on a single charge are gone, completely gone in this generation of new phones. Smartphones are equipped with powerful softwares and features that can kill your battery in hours. Listing to music, playing games, posting pictures and tweeting is fun but the moment you see your battery % isn't fun at all.

Here are some tips on how to conserve your battery life with easy, simple steps and just spending some money.

1. Adjust your brightness
This simplest tip is being used by many. Adjusting your brightness to your desire, with bright screen comes a shorter battery life so try to adjust it to conserve more power.

2. Turn Off Vibration
Its a great alternative for silent mode, but did you know that Vibrate mode actually consumes more power than any ringtones, Vibrate mode sends tiny vibrations in your speakers that uses more energy and making your battery life shorter.

3. Turn off connections (Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS)
Connections that are turned on can cause your battery life not to last longer, ON connections continuously search for new signals and takes up energy from your smartphone. Before you leave your house or anything remember to turn off your Wifi or Bluetooth to conserve battery and just turn it On if you need it.

4. Clear out apps
Force shut your running applications, open and running apps are one of your enemies when it comes to battery drainage, clear all running app if you don't clear them they will just run on your phone and will surely take half of your battery life.

5. Turn off push notifications
Push notifications are important but you need to turn it off, constant updating and displaying messages and alerts still consumes energy. Limit or turn it off if you don't need it to prevent it from draining your battery.

8. Temperature
Our smartphones are not designed for hot conditions, our battery runs out when our smartphones are warm. Don't leave your smartphone under or direct sunlight or in your car.

This is the most common problem, leaving our phone inside our car without knowing it can damage our phones battery with excessive heat, before going out your car remember to always bring your phone with you and don't just leave it there.

7. Spare or External Battery (power banks)
This option can be a pain in your wallet but its worth it. Getting a spare battery or external battery can keep you moving, got drained battery? no problem just get the extra battery and put it on. External battery can be expensive but it can keep you for a long day. Just remember to buy from trusted External Battery manufacturer to avoid any accidents.

The M8 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and having the 16/32/64 GB of internal storage and an additional of MicroSD slot, and YES it's true M8 will support a MicroSD slot up to 128 GB. The main feature of the M8 is the Dual camera and is said to be an UltraPixel. The Dual camera is said to refocus the photo after it has been taken and we are still not sure about the main function of the Dual camera and hopefully they can incorporate a 4k video recording. Health Care: Feeding Program and Health Awareness Program

If you don't know I'm a medical student by day but a Technology blogger by night and I know this is not related to Technology but I just want to share this experience.

Our Health Care subject conducted a Feeding program and Health awareness program at San Luis Daycare center last March 13, 2014 (Thursday) with our department the Respiratory Therapy II.

We provided lots of activities not just Health awareness and Feeding program but we also conducted interesting games, health related role play and exercises, we aim to educate the children while having fun to make the program more interesting.

First we had our kiddy morning exercise, we did some stretching by doing head rotations, head tilt up, head tilt down, raising their hands up, hip bending and jumping jacks just to wake them up. Seeing them having fun is good sign that they are interested.

Second we did a role play about a tooth cavity, we explained on how cavities can ruin their teeth and the consequence of having a tooth cavity because you can't eat, sleep and concentrate because of the painful felling of having a tooth decay. We can see in  their eyes that they are afraid of having tooth decay and we asked them, "What will you do to avoid tooth decay" (anong gagawin niyo para hindi masira ngipin niyo?) They all answered "We Brush our teeth" (mag toothbrush na kami palagi) it's great to see children listing and realizing the painful feeling of having a tooth decay.

Third we had games to make them more livelier and to make the program more interesting to children. The first game "Who is the best dancer" having our participants as children of course they're all the best dancers some did dance but some are shy you can tell that they want to dance but they're just shy because they have visitors, they did dance in the tune of Cha-Cha by Ryzza Mae Dizon. They did enjoy the games and the prizes.

Fourth and final program is the Feeding Program, we gave them nutritious food like Pancit having noodles with different varieties of vegetables, chicken sandwich and juice drinks. We aim to educate children to eat nutritious foods like vegetables, meat etc. and to avoid junk foods for them to be healthy and lively. After the feeding program we gave them loot bags with toothbrush, toothpaste, towels, and soap for them to use and apply what they have learned from the health awareness program.

As medical students we need to educate children as early as they can be to influence others on proper ways to health awareness and share to everyone to eat vegetables and not to eat junk foods for them to be healthy because one can influence others to participate in health awareness.

Having this exposure is a great experience for us medical students, sharing our knowledge to everyone and educating people about health awareness. This experience is very unforgettable meeting new people, encouraging children to do something they don't usually do and seeing them learning is a great experience even we're very tired preparing for the program but seeing them smile and participate can lessen our  weary. It feels like giving back without the presence of money but giving back in a meaningful way and educative way.

Thank you San Luis Daycare center for having us, Thank you Ma'am Rhein and Ma'am Maylene, Thank you Kuya Jay for providing our lunch and Thank you Respi II for making this Program meaningful and extraordinary.
