Samsung Gear Fit

Samsung's new Gear line-up, your Gear for Fitness!


Samsung announced three Gear line-up from Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit.

Samsung now joins the Smart watch / Fitness category by introducing its Gear Fit, The Gear Fit focuses on fitness by means of tracking your daily activities. 

The Samsung Gear Fit houses 1.84” Curved Super AMOLED (432x128) for its dimension 23.4 x 57.4 x 11.95 mm, 27g , a small but great screen resolution for a small fitness band, the on-screen icon offers Pedometer, Exercise, Heart Rate, Sleep, Stopwatch, Timer. The Gear Fit carries loads of sensors from Accelerometer, Gyro to Heart Rate, the Heart Rate sensor can be found on the back of the Gear Fit. Connectivty for the Gear Fit is Bluetooth® v4.0 LE and it is powered by 210mAh standard battery (Typical Usage 3 to 4 days, low Usage up to 5 days).

The additional features for the Gear Fit having said that it can be a smart watch / fitness band it lets you see you notifications (SNS, Call, E-mail, Apps) Schedule, Smart Relay, Media Controller, interchangeable strap and IP67 Dust and water resistant so you can use it while washing your hands.

Samsung will sell several color options straps for the Gear Fit but for the pricing and availability are still unclear.

SmartBand from Sony

A new smart wear from Sony, The Sony SmartBand SWR10.


" Log your life with SmartBand " - Sony

Sony announced the SmartBand SWR10 at the Mobile World Congress with its smartphone line-up.
This smart wear is one innovative way of Sony by introducing its Life logging wristband that lets you log your daily activities, your communications, entertainment, log special events and watch every events on your Android device.

The SmartBand itself weighs only 21 grams, it requires you to have Android KitKat to be able to view your daily activities on your Android device. The SmartBand lets you plan your activities, It will show you your call and text notifications by just a simple vibrate, use it as a media control. Sony made it a Fitness tracking device that you can measure your steps and calculate your calorie burn. It is also a waterproof and the design is perfect and you can wear the SmartBand 24/7 to log your day.



The Sony SmartBand comes with an app called "LifeLog" this app will monitor your everyday activities, lets you plan your day, record your special events and lets you remind your physical activities and you can see if you've been riding, cycling, walking, running and even monitor how hours you've slept.

Sony SmartBand SWR10 will be globally available from March 2014, the color availability for now is Black but Sony says more colors will be available in the launch date.

Huawei TalkBand B1

Wearable technology is a huge hype these days and top companies like Pebble, Samsung, LG and Sony unveiled their wearable tech. To be specific a smart watch that can interact with you and your phone and can track your daily fitness activities, but Huawei is up for the game to compete with the huge companies by unveiling their Huawei TalkBand B1 at MWC 2014 in Barcelona.

The Huawei TalkBand B1 lets you talk while tracking your daily activities and it connects to you smartphone via Blue tooth and  a wristband that you can wear everyday. The Huawei TalkBand B1 can track your calorie counts, fitness levels and even your sleep patterns and Huawei even doubles it as a Bluetooth headset but you need to download a specific app only for Android and an up-coming app for different platforms and it offers a microphone but its not a touch band but supports a button-navigation.

Specifications for the Huawei TalkBand B1, it supports a 1.4" Film OLED with its extremely thin body for only 0.3 mm wide, weighing only 1 gram and a bendable curved dispaly. Huawei even made it water resistant that you can wash your hands while wearing it but it's not completely waterproof and a big plus for the battery life that Huawei puts in, it can charge for 2 hours and the TalkBand B1 will last for 6days, the band itself is the charger and you can charge it via usb.
